Outstanding Ofsted Success – Nurturing Potential and Inspiring Futures:
Welcome to Southlands School, we are proud to announce that Southlands School has been awarded an Outstanding Ofsted rating in all areas – a testament to our dedication to providing exceptional education and care.
The majority of our young people have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) with their primary special need being ASD and require support to access education, have difficulty initiating or limited social interactions and need support with organisation and problem solving, which can hamper independence. They may typically be working at or above age-related expectations or with moderate learning difficulties.
School Curriculum
At Southlands School, we aim to provide consistent, diverse, fun and structured learning opportunities through a waking day curriculum, seven days a week.
We understand that not all young people with complex needs will learn new skills at the same pace. Our curriculum caters for students with a wide range of needs, regardless of the speed of their progress.
Keyworker support
Each young person has an allocated keyworker, whom liaises with the family and the young person on the home. The keyworker is a trusted key adult for the young person. They keyworker helps to develop independence skills, pursue hobbies and introduce new hobbies or any activities the young person would like to try, understand the wider community and help build relationships and make friends.
Southlands School offers students a plethora of facilities onsite
We provide opportunities for personal and social development, leisure, and networking, all in accessible reach for all students, within 4 acres and the natural environment of the school grounds.
