Queen Alexandra College (QAC), a national residential College and charity located in Birmingham, has again been awarded the ‘We invest in people’, silver accreditation following a recent assessment by Investors in People, the global benchmarking organisation for people management and leadership.
Only 23% of organisations assessed achieve silver status. It means that the right principles are in place but more than that, it means people and leaders are making active efforts to make sure that there’s real consistency and everyone in the organisation feels the effects.
QAC supports a diverse range of student and client abilities and needs, and the wider QAC charity has undergone significant growth over recent years and now has distinct service areas, including the College, Residential support, Community Services and Enterprises. The charity creates a holistic and impactful approach to empowering individuals with disabilities and learning difficulties, promoting their active participation in society.
Commenting on the award, Bev Jessop, QAC Principal and Chief Executive, said: "This accomplishment is significant, and we're pleased to have upheld this level of excellence despite the hurdles posed by ongoing lockdown pressures, rapid expansion, and inspections.

The recent assessment provided us with a golden opportunity to gain insights from our diverse workforce of over 450 individuals. We've gained invaluable lessons from their feedback, highlighting both our strengths and areas for enhancement.
