The 2017/18 edition of Which School? for Special Needs – the leading guidebook to independent special schools in the UK – is available now.
This guidebook, now in its 26th edition, features independent and non-maintained schools and colleges of further education in the UK for pupils with sensory, physical, learning, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties, or dyslexia.
The new edition is currently being distributed to our mailing list, including to the SEND department of every local education authority in the UK.
The guidebook has been helping families and local authorities select the right school provisions for their children for more than 20 years.
It features detailed profiles of more than 50 leading schools and groups and directory information on more than 500 independent special schools. It also includes a directory of maintained special schools and academies, and useful information on relevant groups and associations.
The profiles of independent special schools are replicated on this website, with extra online features such as video, social media and direct email and website links.
There are a number of editorial articles highlighting latest news and initiatives from the sector, including pieces by Adam Boddison, the chief executive of Nasen, Claire Dorer, chief executive of NASS, and Douglas Silas, of Douglas Silas Solicitors. We will be featuring the articles on this website throughout the next few weeks, as well as news and features from our featured schools throughout the year.
